Aw, screw it. I just have way too much to do on Sundays to get these things up in time anymore. So now they'll be weekly updates instead of Sunday updates.

It certainly has been a while since I've done one of these. Not that I've had that much to report writing-wise. Real Life(TM) has been exciting for me, though. We just bought a gorgeous new house and will be moving to Lansdale this summer. As if my posts weren't slow enough, they'll probably just be getting slower until all of that is settled.

My birthday came and went during the time between my last post and now. I am now 33. Got Persona 3 as a present and have been playing it since. I also discovered the Bleach rock musicals and spent about two weeks being obsessed by those. It was the theater aspect of it that got me. I miss performing. Maybe once we move I'll look into a way to at the very least start singing again.

Super Bowl Sunday! W00t! Go Steelers!

So here I am in North Carolina at the in-laws house, wearing my Heinz Ward jersey and Terrible Towel earrings. The last time the Steelers were in the SB, we watched them down here and they won, so of course my dear hubby decides that the reason they won is because we were here. :) I'm just excited that there's a distinct possibility that both of my preferred sports teams will win their respective championships this year. Super cool!

Christmas has come and gone, and I am now the proud owner of an L plushie and a miniature Fenrir. Also a Kyo bobble-head from Fruits Basket, a Kon plushie from Bleach, and a box of strawberry pocky. My hubby went nuts in the anime section of the video store. :)

Oh, and I got Ouran HS Host Club part 1 for my hubby. The guy in the store looked at me funny when I said, "No, really, this is for my husband. He loves this show." Should the day come when I get him to watch Junjou Romantica with me, then the guys in the store can look at me funny and I won't mind.

Hah, I remembered this week! I'm so proud of myself.

So, I've been thinking about fanart lately (and moping to myself about how all the people who said they'd do art for me never did). Once I finish this next novel, I'm going to be putting together a monster package to send to agents. I know I'll be bugging people for reviews of my previous novels, and I'm planning on asking a few for reviews for the new novel, but I'm also thinking about commissioning some art. I think I'd really like portraits of the four main characters and their respective dragons. I'm also wondering if I could get someone to do some sketches of the Schone and Grace characters. I forsee a lot of advertising and begging for help in my future. Wish I could draw more than stick figures. Le sigh.

Ugh. Someone is having a good laugh at my expense. First, my husband neglects to tell me that there is a black permanent marker in one of his pockets, and an entire load of laundry is now polka-dotted, including a turtleneck that I only got to wear once. Then, I learn that my dear angelic daughter isn't so angelic at all and I have to implement some serious discipline at home so she stops getting into trouble at school (and WHY didn't the teacher tell me about this BEFORE it got out of hand? It's not like SHE's going to tell me; she knows if she does, she'll get in trouble.) And then today, a hose busted in my basement and the whole damn thing is flooded. Again. I swear that damn basement has flooded so many times since we've bought this house that we should just turn the stupid thing into an indoor pool.

I am Real Life's bitch. *sigh*

No writing updates this week. I haven't been able to write a damn thing. Maybe next week will be better.

I'm back! Yes, I know I missed a few Sundays. I've been having serious technical difficulties lately. They're still not resolved, but I've figured out a temporary workaround at least. Enough to get a quick post up for the couple of people who read these.

Last week was my first full week of freedom, and I loved it. Once I get my laptop back from the shop, I foresee a ton of writing coming. For now, though, I'm just doing a bunch of cleaning and enjoying some game playing time that doesn't involve the kids hanging over my shoulder and making nonstop comments.

What's that you say? You say today is Monday, not Sunday? Well, you're right. However, I've been in Chicago with no internet access and we got back last night after midnight, so I have a good excuse for being late this week.

The trip to Chicago was nice. The wedding went very well, and the kids looked adorable in their fancy outfits. I'm not a party person, though, and I don't drink, so once the food was gone, I found the reception to be a bit boring and way, way too loud. But that's not the bride's fault; I'm just dull like that. All in all, it was a nice experience, but I'm happy to be home.

OMG, why oh why haven't they invented teleportation yet? Or perhaps I should say why oh why do all my best yaoi-loving girlfriends live so far away from me? Like England or Australia. ... sigh ...

Why am I freaking? Because today in the paper I read an article about a play being performed here in Philly called Shakespeare's R&J. It's a four-person, all-male adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Let's see, I love theater, I adore small casts (although I don't like one-person shows for some reason, probably because I like interaction), I love Shakespeare, and I'm recently into yaoi. Total complete score! But who do I go with? Not the husband. Not the college roommate/best girl friend who doesn't really like movies/plays. Certainly not her husband. Do I even know anyone else around here? Waaaahhh...

I can't believe the summer is more than halfway over! Pretty soon I'm going to be running around buying school supplies and uniforms and new lunchboxes and all that good stuff. And on the first day I send the little ones off, I'm going to par-tay! For like, two hours. Because they have a half day on the first day. But it's the thought that counts.

Another one chapter week. I think this is going to be standard for a while. Blah. I don't know if it's the heat or what, but I'm having a lot of trouble concentrating. So even when I get a bit of time, I have trouble making use of it. ...sigh... Didn't help that I got sick there in the middle of the week.

You know, it's always such a thrill when I get a review or a favorite from an author I recognize as someone worthwhile. Happened to me twice this week. Felt really good.

Ugh. What a week. I've done a total of one chapter, and it's not even finished. Summer is killing me. Not only because the kids are here all the time (and fighting all the time) but also because their bedtime is so much later now. Hah, you know that old parental curse, "I hope you grow up and have kids just like you"? Well, no one cursed me, but I got it anyway. The dynamic between my little angels is exactly like it was between me and my brother way back when. She pushes his buttons simply because she can, and he screams and hollers and throws fits at the smallest thing.

Okay, I'm going to start something new here: weekly writing updates, posted on Sundays. They'll mainly be so that I can keep things organized in preparation for September when I'll have enough free time to start working on my novels again, but they'll also be interesting for anyone who's reading my fanfics or who just likes to see the way my mind works. They will probably be full of spoilers, but I'll mark them and keep everything above the link spoiler-free.

It'll certainly be interesting to see if anyone is actually reading my stuff.

The past few weeks have been hell on me as far as writing is concerned. First the Vermont trip which was relaxing but was also purely couple-time with Seth. I loved it, but I can't exactly write when I'm being smoochy with my hubby. So, no writing. Then I spent a whole week at my parents' house instead of a few days so that the timing would work out that my dad (who insisted on driving up with me even though I'm fricking 32 years old!) would be here over the holiday weekend. No writing down in NC since my parents don't have the stamina/willingness to take care of the kids which left me exhausted. So that leaves me at now. Don't think I've gone so long without writing for a couple of years. Yeesh.
